The Federal High Court sitting in Gombe State has dismissed a suit filed by the incumbent senator of Gombe South, Senator BULUS KILAWAN, against the emergence of Senator JOSHUA LIDANI as Southern Senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the 2023 general elections.
The suit sought to reconduct the party’s primary election of the Gombe Southern Senatorial seat for irregularity.
After an argument from both defenders, the court dismissed the case for lack of merit.
If it can be recalled, yesterday, the Federal High Court had also dismissed the suit filed against the candidacy of Senator Joshua Lidani by Bilyaminu Babalili.
Commenting after the court dismissal, counsel to the Senator Joshua Lidani, AYUBA ADAMU, said that the case would also favour his client, even if it will be taken to the Court of Appeal.
On his part, Special Assistant to Senator Joshua Lidani, Sadik Ahmed, called on the party members to remain optimistic in the victory of APC in the forthcoming general elections.
