The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has called on intending pilgrims to actively participate in medical screening exercise ahead of the 2024 Hajj.
The Director-General of the board, Alhaji Laminu Rabi’u Danbappa made the call during an inspection visit to supervise the ongoing medical check-up at the Hajj Camp Center on Wednesday.
In a statement by the spokesman of the board, Sulaiman A. Dederi, the DG emphasized the importance of active participation in the ongoing medical check-up exercise for all intending pilgrims.
Danbappa also reiterated the significance of ensuring the health and well-being of pilgrims.
He urged all pilgrims to actively engage in the medical examination process to guarantee their fitness and readiness for the pilgrimage.
“It is imperative that all pilgrims prioritize their health by attending the ongoing medical check-up exercise,” stated Alhaji Laminu Danbappa.
“Ensuring the healthcare of our pilgrims is a top priority for the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, and we urge all participants to cooperate fully with medical personnel to facilitate a comprehensive assessment,” Danbappa was quoted as saying in the statement.
He explained that the medical check-up exercise is aimed at assessing the physical fitness and overall health status of pilgrims, providing necessary medical interventions and recommendations where needed.
On her part, Hajiya Binta Yusif, the Health Matters Coordinator of the Board, emphasized that through the process, pilgrims contributed to the smooth and successful execution of the pilgrimage, safeguarding their own well-being and that of their fellow travelers.
“Hajiya Binta Yusif added that the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board is already providing comprehensive support and assistance to all pilgrims, ensuring a safe and fulfilling pilgrimage experience. Pilgrims are encouraged to adhere to all medical guidelines and directives provided by the Board and medical professionals throughout the process,”
