BREAKING: 8 feared killed as explosion rocks Borno community

A landmine explosion in Kinewba village, along the Ngala-Dikwa route in Borno State’s Ngala Local Government Area, killed at least eight persons.

Dozens more persons were said to have incurred varying degrees of injuries as a result of the explosion that occurred on Tuesday.

Platinumpost reports that the landmine attack happened about 15 kilometers away from Maiduguri, the state capital.

A security source said that the two vehicles involved in the incident were damaged beyond repairs.

“The vehicles left Ngala around 900:am while the incident occurred about 15 kilometers away. Eight civilians feared dead including two children, and several others were critically wounded in the landmines blast,” he said.

A top civilian JTF source said the two vehicles, an Izuzu van and a lorry, stepped on the bomb and nearly all the passengers feared dead.
