The Management of Dawanau Grains International Market Association has taken a bold step to secure the market by engaging over 800 security personnel to combat vandalism and theft.
According to the Market President, Alhaji Muntaka Isa, the measure is aimed at protecting the market from hoodlums who have been attempting to forcefully enter and steal food items.
The security personnel comprise Nigerian Army, Police, state security agencies, and 400 vigilantes working together to safeguard the market.
Isa urged the neighboring community to assist security personnel by providing information on the movement of hoodlums to ensure the safety and security of the market and its stakeholders.
