Delta Police Recover 1 AR Rifle, 75 Rounds of 7.62mm AK-47 Ammunition

The Ember months operational activities as emplaced by the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Wale Abass have again reaped benefits as the Command has recorded another major achievement in the fight against crime and criminality.

This is a result of the crime-preventing strategy adopted by the CP to achieve a crime-free yuletide and beyond.

DSP Edafe Bright Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command on Wednesday said on Thursday, 19th December, 2023 at about 1600hrs, the DPO Ekpan Police Station CSP Aliyu Shaba gathered credible intelligence about the activities of some criminal elements operating within Ekpan, Warri, and environs.

 

He also said the divisional surveillance team, led by the DPO Ekpan, swiftly responded to this Intel and trailed the hoodlums to their hideout behind NIGER-CAT.

He however said, upon sighting the Police, the hoodlums took to their heels, they were given a hot chase to no avail.

DSP Edafe stated that an intensive search was conducted around the uncompleted building, a certain sack was found and upon search of the sack bag, the following Exhibits were recovered:

“One (1) AR rifle, two (2) magazines, seventy-five (75) rounds of 7.62mm ammunition; one (1) locally made cut-to-size gun, four (4) rounds of live cartridges; one Awka-made beretta pistol; one round of 9mm ammunition.”

He noted that efforts are on top gear to identify and arrest the fleeing suspects.

CP Wale Abass reiterated the Command’s commitment and determination to track down all persons involved in crime related activities and also sends a strong warning to criminals noting that the State will be too hot for them.
