Elder statesman, Aminu Dantata dies at 94

Respected Nigerian businessman and elder statesman, Aminu Alhassan Dantata, has died at the age of 94.

The famous Kano-born businessman died at a hospital in Abu Dhabi at about 3.00am Nigerian time.

Dantata was widely known for his long-standing role in commerce and philanthropy, particularly in northern Nigeria.

He earned a reputation for humility, generosity, and commitment to the public good.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by the family in due course.
