Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, will officially receive his All Progressives Congress (APC) membership card on Friday at the Government House, Ray Field, Plateau State.
A statement signed by the Governor’s Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, said that after the presentation, Mutfwang will proceed to the APC Plateau State Secretariat at Kalwa House, Jos, to meet party leaders and members.
Recall that the governor, in a letter of resignation dated December 29, 2025, addressed to the ward chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ampang West Ward, Mangu Local Government Area, Governor Mutfwang formally announced his withdrawal from the party with immediate effect.

“I write to formally notify you of my resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect,” the Governor stated.
“Given the realities of the moment, and guided by my unwavering commitment to purposeful leadership, clarity of direction, and effective service delivery, I am compelled to seek an alternative political platform to participate in the political process,” he added.
Governor Mutfwang expressed profound appreciation to the PDP for providing him with the platform to pursue his political aspirations and thanked party members and supporters for their steadfast loyalty and support over the years.
The governor said his decision to join the APC is a strategic and well-considered move taken in the overriding interest of the people of Plateau State.
He noted that the step would better align the state’s development objectives with the policies and programmes of the Federal Government, thereby accelerating growth and delivering greater dividends of democracy to the people.
The governor reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to providing purposeful leadership, promoting inclusive governance, and championing unity across Plateau State, stressing that breaking barriers of division remains central to achieving collective growth and sustainable development.
