Kano govt mourns Islamic scholar Shiekh Dahiru Usman Bauchi

The Kano State Government has expressed grief over the passing of renowned Islamic scholar and spiritual leader, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, who died in the early hours of Thursday after a prolonged illness.

In a condolence message signed by the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, the government described the late cleric as a towering figure in Islamic scholarship whose influence spanned generations and regions.

It noted that his lifelong commitment to Islamic teachings, moral discipline and spiritual guidance earned him national and international recognition.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, on behalf of the government and people of Kano State, extended condolences to the scholar’s family, the Tijjaniyya community, the people of Bauchi State and the Muslim Ummah.

He described Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi as a rare national asset whose contributions to peace, religious harmony and community development will remain indelible.

The government prayed for Allah to grant the late scholar eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus and to strengthen his family and followers during this period of mourning.

It also urged the public to reflect on his exemplary life and uphold the values of peace, humility and devotion he embodied.
