NSCDC Arrests Six Suspected Power Cable Thieves in Damaturu

The Yobe State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) apprehended six individuals for stealing power cables in Damaturu, the state capital.

Adamu I. Zakari, the NSCDC Commandant, disclosed the arrests while presenting the suspects. The suspects were caught stealing armored cables valued at N1.2 million behind the Waziri Ibrahim Housing Estate.

Commandant Zakari mentioned that investigations led to the identification of three more suspects connected to the crime. He assured the public that all involved individuals would face justice.

One of the captured suspects admitted to vandalizing several transformers within Damaturu, including those at the Federal Polytechnic and the Ali Marami Extension.

This apprehension is a positive development for Damaturu residents, who have been enduring power outages due to transformer vandalism.
