In a display of courage and tactical expertise, the mobile police unit recently stationed in Kuriga, located within Chikun Local Government Area (LGA), successfully neutralized two armed bandits on Friday.

A statement signed by Samuel Aruwan – Overseeing Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Kaduna State, on Sunday, said the operation was carried out by operatives recently deployed by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun.

During the confrontation, the police operatives not only neutralized the bandits but also confiscated a cache of weapons, including two AK47 rifles and 17 rounds of ammunition.

The Commissioner said the incident began when the operatives responded to urgent calls reporting an attack on farmers near Kuriga village’s outskirts.

Upon their arrival, the security forces engaged the bandits in an intense firefight, resulting in the deaths of two criminals.

This successful intervention was later reported to the Kaduna State Government.

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State lauded the swift and effective actions of the police, particularly commending the State Commissioner of Police, CP Ali Audu Dabigi, and his team for their prompt and decisive response.

The Governor encouraged all security personnel in the region to continue their efforts to eradicate criminal elements completely.
