The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) has revealed that Idris Ogunleye, popularly known as Bobrisky, was not housed in the general cell during his time at the Kirikiri Medium Security Facility due to his feminine features.

Micheal Benson, the NCoS official in charge of the facility, disclosed this on Monday during an investigative hearing held by the House of Representatives.

The hearing is part of an ongoing investigation into the alleged N15 million bribe that was reportedly paid to EFCC and NCoS officials to secure special privileges for Bobrisky during his six-month incarceration.

Benson explained that Bobrisky’s feminine features, including breasts, made it unsafe for him to be placed in the general population, which included convicted rapists and other violent offenders.

“Bobrisky have some special features like breast. If we put him in the general cell, you would have to bring out his body from the cell. We have some convicted rapist and sodomites,” Mr Benson said.

Mr Benson explained that Bobrisky was later moved out of the Medium Security Correctional Facility into the Maximum Security facility for his own safety. The officer, however, said the action was taken in his absence by his superior.

Dailyfactng reported that Bobrisky did not appear before the panel, but has been ordered by the House to appear in a date yet to be announced by the lawmakers.
