Thuggery: Vigilante Leader Killed In Kano

The Kano State Police Command has confirmed the death of Mukhtar Garba Baballiya, a vigilante group leader in Ja’en community, Gwale Local Government Area, during a thuggery clash.

The incident occurred on Tuesday night when the vigilante leader intervened in a dispute between thugs from Ja’en Makera and Ja’en Unguwar Lalle. During the intervention, he was stabbed.

The vigilante leader was rushed to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, where he was later confirmed dead.

Confirming the incident on Wednesday, the Kano Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, stated that police personnel swiftly responded to the scene, bringing the situation under control. One suspect has been apprehended in connection with the incident.

The police command assured residents that investigations are ongoing and reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining peace and security in the area.
