The Ebira Health-Care Professionals Forum has offered free medical outreach to over 1,000 indigent Ebira people in Kano State.
NAN reports that the medical outreach was organised by the forum on Saturday in Kano, to offer General health, and nutritional advise, consultation, basic treatment, medical test, and Drug prescription.
Dr Suleiman Omeiza, the Chairman of the forum, said over 1,000 adults and children of Ebira indigent and other tribes within Kano communities benefited from the medical outreach.
Omeiza, represented by the Coordinator of the forum, Pharm. Nuhu Salihu, said the outreach was aimed at bringing healthcare services accessible to indigent people who cannot afford hospital bills considering the economic condition of the country.
“The initiative has been on since the inception of the forum in 2018, with the aim of promoting the well-being of indigent person’s by granting them easier access to free and quality healthcare.
NAN reports that during the outreach medical services including screening for blood pressure, diabetes, eye test and maleria test among others were provided.
He urged the general Public to take their health serious and always go for medical check-up once in a while especially blood pressure level when you are above 30 to 40-years-old.
Also speaking, Alhaji Aliyu Abdulmalik, the Emir of Ebira People in Kano and Jigawa State, commended the forum for the kind gesture.
Abdulmalik advised other ethnic groups in the state to emulate the good gesture.
A beneficiary of the outreach, Miss Zainab Abdulmumin, appreciated the organisation for providing her with a free medical eye glass.
Another beneficiary, Malam Usman Alhassan, described the outreach as an eye opener that revealed he has high blood pressure without being aware.
“I thought i was healthy not until when i was checked and was given free drugs and advise”
He commended the forum for the kind gesture of saving life, adding that health is life.
