Baptist Academy Kano, a renowned missionary school, celebrated its 60th Diamond Jubilee anniversary (1965-2025) with great fanfare.
The academy, located on France Road by Stadium Sabon Gari in Kano State, is owned and managed by First Baptist Church Kano.
The two-day celebration kicked off with a graduation ceremony for pupils, followed by a special reception and award presentation.

In his welcome address, the School Proprietor, Rev. Dr. Armstrong Olatunde Ajayi, described the ceremony as glorious, marking a new dawn for the academy.
He prayed that God would help sustain the new level of growth and development.
“It was glorious and to me it was also a new dawn, to Baptist Academy Kano and the Proprietor of the school First Baptist Church Kano. This is a new beginning in our time and in our life, and I pray that God will help us to sustain this new level that God just ushered us in to”. He added
The School Proprietor further admonished parents to respect their children’s academic and career choices, emphasizing that this would enhance productivity among them.

In her speech, the School Board Chairperson, Mrs. Florence Kemi Amao, urged graduating students to be good ambassadors of the academy, acknowledging the labor of past and present heroes who have contributed to the school’s growth.

Parents and students commended the school for its academic excellence, thanking First Baptist Church Kano for providing a place of learning that covers academic, character, and spiritual transformation.
Teachers, both past and present, described the celebration as a reflection on the journey so far, giving room to celebrate achievements and look forward to a brighter future.

The best graduating student, Timothy Owosekun, who clinched 11 awards, described Baptist Academy Kano as a place he wishes every child should pass through, praising the school’s conducive environment and quality teachers.

*Alumni Inauguration and Award Night*
The SSS 3 Dinner Party, Award Night, and Alumni Inauguration were highlights of the celebration. Over 20 teachers received Long Service Awards for serving over 10 years. The Alumni Chairman, Engr. Remi Amao, inaugurated the 2025 class into the Alumni fellowship and made a cash donation of ₦400,000 to the school, promising more support.

*Thanksgiving Service*
The climax of the celebration was the Thanksgiving Service held in the Church Auditorium, where alumni, past and present teachers, and worshippers joined forces in praising God for 60 years of shaping young minds, fostering growth, and empowering future leaders.

*Notable Alumni*
The academy has produced notable alumni, including Dr. Olusegun Agagu, former Governor of Ondo State; Apostle Femi Lazarus; Dn. Sadiq Suleiman, retired Regional Manager of First Bank Plc; Engr. Remi Amao of BAGCO Nigeria; and Engr. Bayo Fehintola, CEO of BOLENTEECH Engineering Limited.
The two-day ceremony was aptly tagged “Celebrating 60 Years of Grace and Growth.”
