The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has declared Lagos property developer, Olasijibomi Ogundele, wanted on allegations of fund diversion and money laundering.

The anti-graft agency made the announcement in a notice signed by its Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, and shared on its official X account on Friday.

It urged anyone with credible information about the businessman’s whereabouts to reach out.

Part of the statement read: “The public is hereby notified that Olasijibomi Ogundele of Sujimoto Luxury Construction Limited, whose photograph appears above, is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in an alleged case of diversion of funds and money laundering. Ogundele is a 44-year-old indigene of Ori-Ade Local Government Area of Osun State. His last known address is: G29, Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos State.”

The EFCC added: “Anybody with useful information as to his whereabouts should please contact the Commission in its Ibadan, Uyo, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Benin, Makurdi, Kaduna, Ilorin, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt or Abuja offices, or through 08093322644; its e-mail address: info@efcc.gov.ng, or the nearest Police Station and other security agencies.”

Ogundele, who founded Sujimoto Luxury Construction Limited, has built a reputation for developing high-value properties in Lagos, especially in Ikoyi and Banana Island. The company has become a major player in Nigeria’s luxury real estate sector, with projects worth billions of naira.

Although the EFCC has not disclosed the exact sum allegedly misappropriated, the move signals that the developer is being investigated for serious financial crimes.

The Commission has repeatedly warned about the use of luxury real estate as a channel for laundering illicit funds and has promised to intensify its crackdown on high-profile individuals suspected of using such investments to conceal the proceeds of corruption.
