EFCC, Nigeria Police Force Strengthen Alliance as Ilorin Zonal Director Meets Kwara CP.

The Zonal Director of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ilorin Zonal Directorate, ACE I Victoria Ugo-Ali has paid a strategic courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Police Command, CP Adekimi Ojo, in a renewed push to reinforce inter-agency collaboration in the fight against corruption and financial crimes.

The high-level meeting, held at the Command Headquarters in Ilorin the State capital formed part of efforts to formally introduce the new Zonal Director to the police leadership in the state while consolidating existing operational synergy between both law enforcement agencies.

Speaking during the visit, Ugo-Ali described the Nigeria Police Force as a critical stakeholder and indispensable partner in the anti-corruption drive. She emphasized that the EFCC’s operational successes in tackling economic and financial crimes are significantly strengthened by police collaboration, describing the Force as “the foundation of law enforcement operations in the country.”

She further identified key operational areas requiring deeper cooperation, including intelligence sharing, joint investigations, coordinated enforcement actions, and tactical field operations.

According to her, stronger institutional synergy would not only enhance efficiency but also accelerate the prosecution of corruption-related offences across Kwara State and beyond.

In his response, CP Adekimi Ojo commended the EFCC for its sustained commitment to combating corruption and financial crimes nationwide. He expressed appreciation for the visit, noting that such engagements foster unity of purpose among security agencies and eliminate operational bottlenecks.

The Commissioner however reaffirmed the Command’s unwavering commitment to maintaining a robust and seamless working relationship with the EFCC, stressing that strengthened collaboration remains essential to promoting accountability, upholding the rule of law, and safeguarding public trust in Kwara State.
