INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmoud Yakubu announced this today in Abuja, during the commission’s consultative meeting with the media.

Professor Yakubu explained that the vacancies arose from death as well as the resignation by some of the elected officials for political appointment.

The INEC Chairman said the timetable for the conduct of the by -election will be released after next month’s governorship election in Kogi, Bayelsa and Imo states.
