The Kano State Police Command has said it arrested one Yusuf Suraj and two others who allegedly conspired and knocked over the Alkhairat GSM market and took away over 600 Cell Phones.
Kano Focus reports that this was contained in a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa on Saturday.
Mr Kiyawa a Police Superintendent said a collective of ten shop owners at the market reported to the police that at midnight hoodlums broke into their shops and stole six hundred seventy-one (671) Mobile Phones.
As a result, a team of detectives led by Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Kofar Wambai Division Kano, CSP Bala Mohammed arrested 19-year-old Yusuf Surajo, of Yakasai Quarters Kano.
The statement said, an investigation is currently ongoing at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), where the principal suspect Mustafa Auwal was arrested.
He said Mustafa has since admitted having conspired with Yusuf, stole the mobile phones, sold some, and left behind the remaining ones to another Sani Garba.
The said Sani was subsequently arrested and a total of Three hundred and eighteen (318) Mobile Phones were recovered from the three suspects.
All the suspects will be charged in court upon completion of the police investigation.
