W’Cup Qualifier: Real reason we didn’t defeat Lesotho – Super Eagles’ coach

Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro, has attributed his side’s 1-1 draw against Lesotho in Thursday’s World Cup Qualifier match in Uyo to bad luck.

Peseiro’s men were the overwhelming favourites heading into the game but were left frustrated as the visitors , who put up a resolute performance.

The Super Eagles also failed to convert some of the chances they created.

Leicester City forward, Kelechi Iheanacho had a free kick saved in the first half and hit the woodwork in the second half.

Ademola Lookman also missed another chance before the break.

Peseiro stated that it was a bad day for his side.

“We had 76% of the ball possession against 24% (by Lesotho), the opponents only had two chances to score and scored a goal,” he said after the game.

“We had many chances to score. It was bad luck.”

The Super Eagles will face Zimbabwe in their next game on Sunday.
