The Ministry of Land and Physical Planing of Kano State has making significant strides in establishing a robust land information system that would revolutionize land administration and reduce disputes.
The Commissioner of Land Alhaji Abduljabbar Umar Garko has highlighted the ministry’s efforts to ensure efficient storage and retrieval of land records, minimizing the incidence of missing or misplaced documents.
Garko explained that in an exclusive interview with Newsmen on Tuesday Commissioner emphasized the importance of this initiative in resolving land disputes.
He acknowledged that disputes often arise due to the unavailability or misplacement of land documents, causing prolonged legal battles and tensions among parties involved. By implementing a comprehensive land information system, the ministry aims to prevent such conflicts and ensure a more streamlined and transparent process.
To further strengthen the resolution of land disputes, the Ministry of Land is collaborating with stakeholders to devise alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. These strategies promote dialogue, mediation, and arbitration, enabling amicable resolutions that benefit all parties involved.
