Senior Customs officer slumps, dies during investigative hearing

A Senior Customs officer slumped and died on Tuesday while responding to questions from lawmakers at the Public Account Commitee of the House of Representatives.

The top Customs official suddenly developed health complications while being asked questions and slumped. Efforts by medical personnel at the National Assembly Clinic wasn’t enough to revive him.

House of Representatives spokesperson , Akin Rotimi in a statement said the name of the Senior Customs officer was not disclosed due to respect for the family.
The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen expressed his condolences to the family and the Nigeria Customs Service.
