Kano govt declares Eid-el-Kabir holiday for public, private schools

The Kano State Ministry of Education has announced that all public and private primary and secondary schools would begin the Eid-el-Kabir holiday on May 22.
The announcement is contained in a statement issued on Wednesday in Kano by the ministry’s Director of Public Enlightenment, Musbahu Aminu-Yakasai.

According to the statement, boarding schools will go on holiday from Saturday, May 23, and resume on Sunday, May 31.

He said Day schools would begin the break on Friday, May 22, and resume on Monday, June 1.

The ministry advised parents and guardians of boarding schools to pick up their children on the approved closing date of Saturday, May 23, and ensure they return promptly on the resumption date.

Earlier, Commissioner for Education, Ali Haruna-Makoda, wished students, teachers, parents, and the entire education community a peaceful and joyous Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
