Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have rescued Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, following a coordinated operation that culminated in a gun battle with suspected kidnappers.

The rescue mission, conducted at about 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2026, led to the recovery of the victims unharmed, according to police sources.

During the operation, two suspected members of the kidnapping gang were killed in an exchange of gunfire with security operatives. Police also recovered two firearms from the suspects.

Mrs. John-Paul, who is the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, and her twin sons were reportedly abducted at about 7:30 a.m. on June 3, 2026, while travelling to drop the children off at school.

Sources within the police said sustained intelligence gathering and tactical operations mounted pressure on the kidnappers, eventually forcing a confrontation that resulted in the successful rescue of the victims.

Security personnel have since launched a manhunt for other members of the gang believed to have escaped from the scene. Some of the fleeing suspects are suspected to have sustained gunshot injuries during the encounter.
