In a bid to boost the morale of Nigerian troops and secure the country, the chief of Army Staff, Lt General Taoreed Lagbaja has commissioned projects at the 37 demo batallion, Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna.

The Army Chief pledged to continue to address challenges faced by the battalion such as inadequate accommodation and manpower, electricity and water supply, while the backlog of group life assurance is being taken care of by the federal government.

Lagbaja while addressing the troops shortly after commissioning the projects, he noted that since the establishment of the batallion, it has recorded some level of stability in the NDA general area and its host community.

“Gone are the days when criminal elements roam freely, and even breach the security of the NDA”

According to the Army Chief, it is envisaged that the batallion would not rely on other batallions to provide security for the external perimeter of the NDA, as such, troops should consider it as a full fledged batallion.

General Lagbaja commended the troops for their sacrifices, and charged them to remain disciplined, dedicated and loyal to the constitution.

Projects commissioned by the Army Chief included phase 2 officers quarters and a unit obstacle training course.
