NUGA convenes Council Meeting at UNICAL ahead of Games

The Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA) is set to convene its Council Meeting at the University of Calabar (UNICAL), Calabar, Cross River State, from 21–22 October 2026.

The meeting will bring together Chairmen and Directors of Sports from member institutions to review the association’s activities, discuss upcoming competitions, accreditation processes, championship organisation and strategies for strengthening university sports administration.

Members are expected to arrive on 20 October, with departure scheduled for 23 October 2026.

The meeting will provide a platform for institutional collaboration, shared experiences and coordinated planning towards the continued development of university sports in Nigeria.

It would be recalled that University of Jos hosted the last edition of the championships where over 80 universities across the country participated.
