The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has paraded 12 suspects for various offenses.
The Commissioner of Police FCT Command, CP Beneth Igweh informed journalists while parading the suspects at the Command headquarters in Abuja on Monday that areas prone to various crimes in FCT are communities without network and easy accessibility.
Highlighting various successful operations, CP Igweh said the Command has made substantial strides in combating crime, particularly targeting a car theft syndicate operating between Abuja and Lagos. This discovery he said, led to the arrest of two notorious car theft suspects, Anthony Chibuzor and Jonas Chikwe, both from Lagos state, who have been on the command’s wanted list.
Additionally, perpetrators involved in “one chance” robberies who were arrested On April 7, 2024, at Nicon Junction, rescuing a victim who had been forcefully dispossessed of belongings while being pushed out of a vehicle were also paraded.
Kabiru Umar was arrested by Durumi Division Police for housebreaking and theft. The suspects was said to have broke into a Point of Sale (POS) shop and Stealing N300,00 with N170,000 recovered from him.Items recovered from suspects include the sum of Two million Naira, Two hundred and thirty thousand Naira, Toyota Corrola, a Golf 3 Salon car, a Toyota Camry, Two locally made cartridge rifles, one locally made pistol, one locally made rifle, ten live Cartridges and six live ammunition
CP Igweh reiterated the commitment of the FCT Police Command under his leadership to combat crime in all forms and ensure the safety of residents. He urged continued cooperation from the public in providing information and support to law enforcement efforts.
