Plateau: Tribunal affirms Gov. Mutfwang’s victory, dismisses APC’s Nantawe Yiwatda’s petition

The Plateau State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Jos has affirmed the election of Caleb Mannanseh Mutfwang of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, as governor of the state.

The tribunal, presided over by Justice A. Y. Joh, dismissed the petition filed by Dr. Nentawe Yilwada Goshwe of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Delivering the judgement led by the chairman of the tribunal, Justice. R. Irele- ifineh the issues raised by the petitioner on party structure were pre election matters and the petitioners lacked the Jurisdiction to challenge said the all progressives Congress APC candidate’ s petition appeal on party structure is faulty as it’s a pre election matter and therefore cannot involve itself in matters of such nature.

The tribunal said the ground upon which the petitioners anchored thier petition was the nomination and sponsorship of the 2nd respondent (Mutfwang) by the 3rd respondent (PDP) of which the tribunal holds that the petitioners agreed that there was Congress by the 3rd respondent (PDP),

Therefore the totality of thier petition on the non qualifications of the 3rd respondent PDP to sponsor the 2nd respondent Mutfwang falls like the pack of cards and is here there struck
