NDLEA Busts Ammunition Smugglers Supplying Zamfara Bandits

National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State have intercepted and arrested suspected arms couriers attempting to transport live ammunition to bandits.

The suspects, who tried to evade security checks, were caught with a concealed cache of live rounds hidden in their vehicle. The bust comes amid intensified efforts to disrupt the supply of arms and illicit substances to criminal networks in the region.

A security source disclosed that the suspects had planned to deliver the ammunition to armed groups terrorizing parts of Zamfara. “This operation is part of our ongoing crackdown on criminal logistics chains aiding insecurity in the state,” the official stated.

Authorities have launched further investigations to uncover the full network behind the smuggling operation.
