The President of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, Revd. Dr. David Olusola Idowu, has officially declared open the 46th National Congress of the Men’s Missionary Union (MMU) of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, currently holding in Bayelsa State.

Revd. Dr. Idowu declared the Congress open in the name of God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, following an invitation by the National President of the MMU, Dr. Julius Akinniyi Ojebode, to perform the official responsibility.

The occasion marked Revd. Dr. Idowu’s first official engagement with the Men’s Missionary Union since assuming office as President of the Nigerian Baptist Convention a few weeks ago, making the ceremony particularly significant for the Union.

The opening ceremony attracted several distinguished personalities and leaders from within Nigeria and beyond, including the Chairman of the NBC Pastors’ Fellowship; President of the Bayelsa Baptist Conference; President of the All Africa Baptist Men’s Fellowship (AABMF); President of the Liberia Baptist Men’s Department; Dr. Dawari George, Immediate Past President of the Baptist World Alliance Men’s Department; the Mayor of Yenagoa; as well as members of the MMU National Executive Council.

The historic gathering brings together Baptist men from across Nigeria and other countries for a period of worship, fellowship, discipleship, leadership development, missions and strategic conversations focused on strengthening the Men’s Ministry and advancing the work of God.

The 46th National Congress, tagged “Keys of the Kingdom,” continues in Bayelsa State with various spiritual, developmental and fellowship activities.
