The Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Kwara Area Command, DSC S.M. Suleiman, has been honoured with the Best Anti-Smuggling Awareness Campaign Award at the Gala and Awards Night of the 2026 Annual Public Relations Conference held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The prestigious award, presented during the ongoing five-day conference on July 23, recognises his exceptional contribution to promoting anti-smuggling awareness and strengthening the public image of the Kwara Area Command through innovative and impactful public communication strategies.
Reacting to the recognition, DSC Suleiman dedicated the award to the Customs Area Controller of the Kwara Area Command, praising his visionary leadership and unwavering support, which he said have inspired officers to deliver outstanding results. He noted that the confidence reposed in personnel under the current leadership has created an enabling environment for excellence.
The award-winning image maker also appreciated members of the command’s Public Relations Unit for their teamwork and commitment, while commending the command’s management, officers and personnel for their continuous cooperation and support.
He further acknowledged the vital role of the Kwara State media, describing their partnership as instrumental in amplifying the command’s anti-smuggling campaigns and enhancing public awareness, which contributed significantly to the national recognition.
However, the Nigeria Customs Service, Kwara Area Command has congratulated its Public Relations Officer on the achievement, reaffirming its commitment to sustaining public enlightenment campaigns aimed at combating smuggling and strengthening border security across the command.
