Sweet Ride Transport Launch in Kano, gets state government assurance

Kano state government through the state Deputy Governor Aminu Abdulsallam has assured residents of their safety, as a transport service, Sweet Ride launched in Kano.

The Deputy Governor who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Aminatu Usman told residents that the transport service is well accredited by the state and has all the necessary features to ensure that passengers are safely conveyed to various locations in the state.

“This transport service has come to provide an essential need to Nigerians as it promises comfort, privacy and security. Sweet Ride, is an impressive initiative that creates job opportunities and caters for the transport needs of the teaming people of Kano State.

“In situations where individuals might need transport services very late at night or in cases of emergencies, Sweet Ride operates a 24-hour service and is a safer alternative to conventional means of transport.

“It is also affordable and well secured as all drivers and operators have undergone preliminary background screening before getting registered under this platform.” She said.

The Managing Director of Sweet Ride, Mr Gunu Usman, emphasized that all drivers on the transport service platform are registered and government-approved associations, hence, passengers are assured of seamless services when they are on transit.

“We make sure that we know all our drivers, even to their house, because we understand that safety and security is key, and we prioritize that.

“One amazing feature that the Sweet Ride application has is a panic button which allows passengers to alert security agencies and through that panic button if they perceive that they are in danger or a security situation arises.

“When done, an SOS alert is sent to the security agencies with the location of the passenger and a response team is sent to track the location. The same also applies to the driver, if he finds himself in such a situation,” He said.

Mr Usman added that the transport service has an e-payment system which allows end users to pay without cash.

On his part, Mr Ibrahim Yusuf, Chief Executive Officer of Sweet Ride said that the Ride was developed by young Nigerians, and is a 100% Nigerian product.

“We are counting on Nigerians to support us to create employment opportunities for the teaming population of Kano.

“Kano state was chosen purposely to launch our service because of the population and cosmopolitan nature of the state and we hope to expand to other states of Nigeria.” He said.
