The Kano State Government has taken a significant step toward strengthening information dissemination across the state by empowering Information Officers with mobile phones and motorcycles.

The gesture was officially presented by the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, during a ceremony held in Kano. The initiative is aimed at enhancing the capacity of Information Officers to effectively carry out their duties, particularly in reaching communities and disseminating government policies and programmes.

Speaking at the event, Waiya said the provision of the phones and motorcycles demonstrates the commitment of the administration to improving communication and ensuring that government information reaches the grassroots promptly and accurately.

He noted that Information Officers play a crucial role in bridging the gap between the government and the people, adding that the support would enable them to perform their responsibilities more efficiently.

The Commissioner urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the equipment and remain dedicated to promoting the achievements and activities of the state government.

The beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the Kano State Government for the support, describing it as a timely intervention that would boost their productivity and effectiveness in service delivery.

The empowerment programme forms part of the government’s broader efforts to strengthen the information sector and improve public awareness of its policies and development initiatives across Kano State.
