The Director of Finance, Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority, Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, has said the successful rescue of 176 abducted residents of Kwara State demonstrates that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration is making significant progress in tackling insecurity across the country.
He also added that the rescue of those kidnapped in Niger state ,was also an indication that President Tinubu’s efforts on security sector deserved commendation
The 176 residents of Woro and Nuku communities in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State were abducted on February 3 and regained their freedom after a military rescue operation that ended nearly six months of captivity.he said
The Kwara State Government announced the rescue on Wednesday through its official Facebook page, describing the operation as a major breakthrough.
The government commended President Tinubu, the security agencies and all those who contributed to the successful mission.
Reacting to the development in a statement, Kwankwaso urged political opponents to acknowledge the government’s achievements whenever there are positive developments in the country’s security situation.
Kwankwaso’, who is a chieftain of All Progressive Congress ( APC) praised President Tinubu, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, the Minister of Defence, the Minister of State for Defence and the Service Chiefs for their roles in securing the release of the abductees.
According to him, the rescue is a clear indication that the country’s security challenges can be overcome with sustained efforts.
“This is a clear testament that sooner rather than later, the menace of insecurity will become a thing of the past,” he said.
Kwankwaso further argued that the President’s efforts to improve security have been recognised by many Nigerians, particularly in the North, expressing confidence that the support would be reflected in future elections.
He maintained that President Tinubu’s supporters would demonstrate their backing at the polls, rather than through social media campaigns, adding that the administration’s security successes would continue to strengthen public confidence.
