The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared incumbent governor and candidate of the Accord Party, Ademola Adeleke, as the winner of the Osun governorship election 2026.
INEC Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Oye-Ekiti, Professor Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole, declared the results Sunday morning after overnight collation of results from across the 30 local government areas of the state.
According to Ogunwole, the candidate of the Accord Party polled a total of 511,067 votes to defeat his closest rival and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Oyebamiji, who secured 444, 815 votes.
The INEC Chief Returning Officer announced that Ademola Adeleke, having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby declared the winner and returned elected.
“That, Ademola Adeleke of Accord Party, having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby declared winner and is returned elected, duly signed by me,” declared Professor Ogunwole.
