Kano Govt Warns Against Fake Civil Service Appointment Letters

The Kano State Government through the Office of the Head of Service has warned members of the public against falling victim to fraudulent individuals or groups allegedly selling fake appointment letters and promising employment into the Kano State Civil Service.

The warning was contained in a public awareness message issued by the Office of the Head of Service on Thursday, September 17, 2026 following concerns over activities of individuals attempting to defraud unsuspecting members of the public under the guise of securing government appointments.

The Office of the Head of Service categorically stated that Kano State Government appointment letters are NOT FOR SALE stressing that any demand for money in exchange for an appointment letter or a promise of employment into the State Civil Service is not authorised by the government.

Members of the public were therefore advised to exercise utmost caution and avoid giving money, personal documents or other valuables to individuals claiming to have access to genuine government appointments.

The Office further urged members of the public to rely strictly on official government channels and verified announcements for information concerning recruitment and appointments into the Kano State Civil Service rather than acting on information circulated by unauthorised individuals.

It also called on anyone who encounters suspected recruitment fraud or individuals involved in the sale of fake appointment letters to report such cases promptly to the appropriate authorities for necessary action.

The Kano State Government reiterated that members of the public should remain vigilant and verify all employment-related information through official channels in order to protect themselves from fraudsters.
