Kano State Commissioner of Information, Baba Halilu Dantiye, has called on journalists to adhere to broadcasting standards, uphold professionalism, and maintain integrity in media operations.

The Commissioner made the call while receiving the management staff of Ammasco Radio, who paid him a courtesy visit in his office today.

Dantiye emphasized the importance of journalists understanding Nigeria’s broadcasting codes for effective service delivery.

He highlighted the clear distinction between traditional and social media, stating that in traditional media, news undergoes a rigorous process and is monitored by professionals to ensure the quality of reporting.

The Commissioner added that the state government will support and collaborate with Ammasco Radio and all media organizations in the state, especially in areas of journalist training and capacity building.

Earlier, the General Manager of Ammasco Radio, Muhammad Sulieman Gama, stated that the Ministry of Information is the first place officially visited by the management of the new radio station due to its role in information management.

Gama outlined Ammasco Radio’s vision to enlighten people on self-employment and self-reliance, as well as to inform the public about the policies, programs, and activities of the Kano State government.

He expressed that the visit marks a promising step towards a mutually beneficial partnership between Ammasco Radio and the state government, with a shared goal of serving the people through informative and enlightening programmes.
