The Commanding Officer of the 184 Battalion Headquarters, Omu-Aran, Lt. Col. Kehinde Avoseh, has assured the Olupo of Ajase-Ipo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ismail Yahaya Alebiosu, of the Nigerian Army’s renewed commitment to tackling security threats across Kwara South and other parts of the state.
Lt. Col. Avoseh gave the assurance when he paid a working visit and homage to the Olupo of Ajase-Ipo as part of efforts to familiarize himself and his team with their areas of operation.
Curious Television News reports that the visit provided an opportunity for the monarch and the Commanding Officer to hold extensive discussions on the prevailing security situation in Kwara State, particularly security breaches affecting communities across Kwara South.
The Commanding Officer assured the monarch that the concerns raised would receive the necessary attention, stressing that the military was now fully on ground and had commenced renewed operations across Kwara South and other parts of the state.
He expressed optimism that the security challenges confronting the region would soon become a thing of the past, as the Army intensifies operations aimed at safeguarding lives and property.
In his response, the Olupo of Ajase-Ipo, Oba Ismail Yahaya Alebiosu, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as his timely response to the worsening security situation in Kwara State and other parts of the country.
The monarch also appreciated the Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for his proactive efforts towards strengthening the state’s security architecture, particularly through the establishment of various Army formations.
Oba Alebiosu thanked Lt. Col. Avoseh and his team for the visit and homage, and wished them success in their efforts to restore lasting peace and security across Kwara South and the state.
Major General Azeez Yemi Abidoye (Rtd.) was also part of the Commanding Officer’s entourage.
The visit was widely regarded as a significant step towards strengthening collaboration between traditional institutions and security agencies, while enhancing ongoing efforts to combat insecurity and protect communities across Kwara State.
