The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, has urged the newly appointed judges of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory to brace themselves for difficulties, negative remarks, and verbal assaults from litigants.

Speaking at their inauguration, Justice Ariwoola congratulated the 12 new judges but also expressed sympathy for the discomfort they would face while performing their judicial duties.

He emphasized that although judges are not magicians, litigants often expect miraculous outcomes.

The CJN advised the judges to adhere strictly to the law and their oath of office, reminding them that their lives and associations would change significantly with their new roles.

He cautioned them against engaging in corrupt practices, highlighting the National Judicial Council’s commitment to maintaining integrity within the judiciary.
