The Kano State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to sustained partnership with the Nigerian Armed Forces to ensure lasting peace and security across the state.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf made this commitment during the laying of wreaths in honour of Nigeria’s fallen heroes in Kano.

The governor represented at the event by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Umar Farouk Ibrahim said, the occasion was a moment of deep reflection and appreciation for the sacrifices of men and women of the Armed Forces, both serving and retired.

He noted that the Nigerian Armed Forces have played an enviable role in the nation’s history, from the First and Second World Wars to the Civil War and various peacekeeping missions within Africa and beyond, describing their service as gallant and selfless.

According to him, it is only fitting for governments and citizens to continually remember, honour and pray for members of the Armed Forces who sacrifice their comfort and, in many cases, their lives to safeguard the nation.

He stressed that peace remains irreplaceable and can only be sustained through appreciation and support for the Armed Forces and other security agencies.

Governor Yusuf assured serving and retired personnel of the Armed Forces, of the state government’s continued support.

The event also featured prayers for the repose of the souls of fallen heroes who paid the ultimate price in the service of the nation.
