In a groundbreaking achievement, Maryam Abacha American University (MAAUN) Niger-Maradi has been crowned the top private university in Niger Republic by the prestigious AD Scientific Index 2024.

The AD Scientific Index stands out as the sole university and institution ranking system that meticulously evaluates the distribution of scientists within an institution, focusing on percentile rankings and the total number of scientists.

According to the recently unveiled Niger University Rankings 2024 report by the esteemed international ranking organization, MAAUN has emerged as the undisputed leader among private universities in Niger.

The ranking methodology of the AD Scientific Index is meticulous, relying on four primary criteria to assess institutions. Firstly, it evaluates the number of scientists within the top 3 percent bracket. Subsequently, it examines the distribution of scientists across various percentile brackets, including the top 10%, top 20%, top 40%, top 60%, and top 80%. Lastly, it considers the overall number of scientists listed in the AD Scientific Index.

In cases where equality arises after applying these criteria, the global rank of the meritorious scientists from the respective country is taken into account.

The AD Scientific Index is renowned for its comprehensive coverage, encompassing a vast academic landscape with a staggering 1,610,021 scientists, representing 219 countries and 23,200 universities/institutions globally.

One of the distinguishing features of the AD Scientific Index University Ranking is its ability to shed light on the specialized areas of excellence within each university while also providing insights into the institution’s scientist recruitment policies. This facet illuminates an institution’s capacity to attract and retain top-tier scientists, thereby fostering innovation and advancement.

The recognition bestowed upon MAAUN as the premier private university in Niger Republic underscores its commitment to academic excellence, research prowess, and innovation-driven education. As MAAUN continues to soar to greater heights, it reaffirms its dedication to shaping the future of education in Niger and beyond.

Established in 2013, MAAUN Niger stands out as West Africa’s pioneering bilingual university. Under the visionary leadership of its dedicated President and Founder Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo. The institution remains committed to innovation, striving to elevate its global standing akin to the esteemed AD Scientific Index.

Distinguished as a young luminary, he holds the unique distinction of founding and overseeing four internationally accredited universities across Africa. These include MAAUN Niger and MAAUN Nigeria, alongside the esteemed Franco British International University (Kaduna) and Canadian University of Nigeria (Abuja).
