Nigeria Association for Physical, Health Education, Recreational, Sports and Dance NAPHER-SD has honoured the President of Nigerian School Sports Federation NSSF, Mrs Olabisi Temitope Joseph for her outstanding contributions to the development of sports in the country.
While presenting an award to Mrs Joseph, the president of NAPHER-SD, Professor Florence Bola Adeyanju disclosed that the association had selected over 10 distinguish sports personalities and seasonal administrators for the prestigious recognition.
Our correspondent reports that the event took place during the 54th NAPHhER- SD conference and elections held at the Centre for Excellent, Bayero University Kano BUK.
Commenting shortly after receiving the award, Mrs Joseph disclosed that the award would serve as a motivation for her to continue to sacrifice and redouble her efforts towards projecting the image of the Nation through sports within and outside the shores of the country.
Mrs Joseph who doubles as the continental President for Africa of the International School Sport Federation ISF applauded the leadership of NAPHER-SD and other stakeholders for their support and cooperation, pledging that the NSSF will do everything possible to ensure the development of sports at the grassroot levels.
Top sports personalities who received similar awards includes former minister of sports, Professor Toafiq Adedoja, the immediate past Secretary General of the Nigeria Football Federation NFF, Dr. Muhammad Sunusi, the chairman technical committee of the Nigerian University Games Association NUGA and former chairman sports committee of Bayero University Kano BUK, Professor Musa Garba Yakasai , alongside former Secretary General of the NFF, Dr. Tijjani Yusuf amongst others.
