SAPZ Trains 100 Kwara Workers to Boost Food Security, Agro-Industrial Growth

The Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ) Programme has begun a capacity-building training for 100 personnel from key public institutions in Kwara State to strengthen food security, reduce post-harvest losses, and accelerate agricultural industrialization.

Speaking at the opening ceremony in Ilorin the state capital, the State Project Coordinator of SAPZ, Engr. Busari Isiaka and other speakers urged participants to maximize the training by applying the knowledge and skills acquired to improve project implementation and enhance service delivery across the agricultural sector.

Engr. Isiaka explained that the participants were drawn from 31 ministries, departments, and agencies, adding that the training is designed to enhance technical, institutional, and implementation capacities for the successful execution of the SAPZ programme. He noted that the initiative will strengthen agricultural value chains and drive sustainable economic growth in the state.

The SAPZ Programme is already attracting foreign investors, positioning Kwara as an emerging hub for agro-industrial investment and agricultural transformation.

The SAPZ Programme is a flagship Federal Government agricultural initiative, co-financed by the African Development Bank and states, aimed at improving food security, creating jobs, promoting agro-industrial development, and reducing post-harvest losses across participating states.
