A Construction Firm, RADOC Construction Ltd. has employed more than 1,300 youths and supports community development projects as part of efforts to create economic opportunities.

The company’s Managing Director, Mr Doumit Ters, made the disclosure while briefing newsmen on Friday in Kano.

Ters said that the initiatives were also part of the company’s corporate social responsibility.

He said 94 per cent of the company’s workforce were drawn from local communities, adding that the company prioritises employment to address unemployment in the state.

He said that the company also supported community projects, including the construction of boreholes, an Islamiyya school in Kura Local Government Area and school expansion.

The aim, he said, was to improve access to basic social amenities and education.

“I believe the best way to fight poverty is through education. We do the intervention willingly in response to identified community needs.

“We believe in community service. When we go into a village or community where we are working and identify the need for a school, we try to address it” Ters said.

The managing director said the company’s social responsibility initiatives were designed to address community needs alongside its road construction and infrastructure projects.

He cited an emergency intervention involving a collapsed bridge that had cut off Yanshana community in Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area of the state.

According to him, the company responded swiftly to the situation to help restore access.

‘’The company’s commitment to community welfare sometimes requires interventions beyond routine contractual obligations, ‘’ he said.

Ters said the company, established in 2008, expanded into infrastructure development in 2019 after initially focusing on construction materials.

He said the company had executed several road and infrastructure projects in Kano and Jigawa states, while expressing readiness to sustain cooperation with the media.

The managing director also encouraged media practitioners to visit project sites, interact with residents and report objectively on the company’s performance and the impact of its interventions.

Ters reiterated the company’s commitment to maintaining quality, transparency, strengthening community relations and contributing to sustainable development through infrastructure delivery and social responsibility initiatives.
