Eid-el-Kabir: Governor Yusuf Urges Peaceful Celebration, Prayers for Kano

The Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has congratulated Muslims in Kano State and beyond on the occasion of the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

This was contained in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesman Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa on Tuesday.

Governor Yusuf described Eid-el-Kabir as a significant period that teaches the values of sacrifice, obedience, patience and compassion, urging Muslims to uphold the teachings and lessons of the holy festival in their daily lives.

The Governor called on residents of Kano State to celebrate the Sallah period peacefully, avoid acts capable of disrupting public peace and continue to demonstrate love, tolerance and mutual respect toward one another.

He also urged parents and guardians to advise their children against reckless behavior during the festivities, while appealing to the youth to remain law-abiding and cooperate with security agencies.

Governor Yusuf further encouraged citizens to use the festive period to pray for peace, unity and continued development in Kano State and Nigeria.

The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to policies and programmes aimed at improving the lives of the people and ensuring sustainable development across the state.

The Governor congratulated President Bola Ahmad Tinubu GCFR, Vice President Kashim Shettima GCON and his courterparts the Governors over the peaceful Eid celebrations.

He wished Muslims a successful and memorable Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
