Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has expressed profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the allocation of 33 truckloads of fertilizer to Kano State under the Federal Government’s agricultural support programme.

The Governor made the commendation on Thursday during the official flag-off of the sale and distribution of subsidized fertilizer to farmers from the 44 local government areas of the state at the Race Course Ground in Kano.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesman, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Saturday.

Governor Yusuf described the intervention as timely and a clear demonstration of the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting farmers and strengthening food security across the country.

He noted that agriculture remains the backbone of Kano State’s economy, stressing that sustained collaboration between the Federal and State Governments is vital to achieving food security, economic growth, and improved livelihoods.

The Governor assured President Tinubu that the fertilizer would be distributed transparently and equitably to genuine farmers across the state. He added that stringent monitoring mechanisms had been put in place to prevent diversion and ensure accountability throughout the distribution process.

Governor Yusuf reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transforming agriculture through the provision of subsidized farm inputs, agricultural mechanization, irrigation development, and other initiatives designed to boost food production and create employment opportunities for the people of Kano State.

He also prayed for Allah’s continued guidance and wisdom for President Tinubu in steering the affairs of the nation and expressed optimism that the cordial relationship between the Federal Government and Kano State would continue to deliver greater dividends for the benefit of the people.
