A prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain from Gwarzo and Kabo Federal Constituency, Alhaji Muhammad Usman Barau Gwarzo, has applauded the Kano State Government under the leadership of Executive Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, FNISE, for what he described as “remarkable and people-centered achievements” in the strategic areas of agriculture, technology, youth empowerment and grassroots development.

Alhaji Muhammad Usman Barau Gwarzo made the remarks while addressing APC supporters, elders, stakeholders, women groups and youth organizations during an interactive session in Gwarzo Town, where he reviewed the developmental strides of the present administration and called for sustained support for programmes aimed at improving the living conditions of the people.

According to the APC stalwart, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has, within a short period, demonstrated a strong sense of purpose and commitment to governance by introducing practical measures designed to strengthen the state’s economic base, empower citizens and restore confidence in public leadership.

He said one of the most significant hallmarks of the administration is its bold intervention in the agricultural sector, which remains the backbone of Kano State’s economy and the principal source of livelihood for millions of citizens across both urban and rural communities.

He explained that by placing agriculture at the heart of his administration’s development agenda, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has shown a deep understanding of the realities facing ordinary people, particularly farmers whose contributions remain vital to food production, job creation and economic stability in the state.

Alhaji Muhammad Usman Barau Gwarzo observed that the government’s commitment to agricultural development is evident in its support for modern farming practices, youth participation in agribusiness, agricultural training and other initiatives aimed at boosting productivity and improving farmers’ access to opportunities.

He noted that the administration’s efforts to strengthen agricultural extension services and empower young graduates in livestock production and horticulture have opened a fresh chapter in the state’s drive toward food security, self-reliance and inclusive economic growth.

According to him, such interventions are not only improving the agricultural value chain but are also creating practical opportunities for young people to engage in productive ventures capable of reducing unemployment and stimulating local enterprise across Kano State.

He stressed that the empowerment of youths through agriculture-based programmes is one of the most strategic decisions of the present administration, as it directly addresses the twin challenges of joblessness and economic dependency while preparing a new generation of skilled and productive citizens.

Alhaji Muhammad Usman Barau Gwarzo further commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for recognizing the importance of technology and innovation in modern governance, saying the future of any progressive society depends on how effectively it integrates technology into administration, planning, education, communication and economic development.

He stated that the present administration’s growing emphasis on technology- driven governance reflects a clear understanding that development in the 21st century can no longer be pursued through outdated methods, but through innovation, digital systems and improved service delivery mechanisms.

The APC chieftain said the combination of agriculture and technology under Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s leadership is one of the most promising aspects of the administration’s development blueprint, because modern agricultural success now depends on access to information, mechanization, improved techniques, innovation and strategic planning.

He maintained that Kano State stands to gain enormously from this vision, especially if the government sustains investments that will encourage farmers, youths and small-scale entrepreneurs to adopt modern methods and participate actively in the evolving agricultural and digital economy.

Speaking further, Alhaji Muhammad Usman Barau Gwarzo said the impact of the administration is already becoming visible in the lives of ordinary citizens, particularly among farmers, women, youths and low-income families who are beginning to feel the benefits of policies designed to support livelihoods, create opportunities and improve social welfare.

He said Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s development philosophy appears to be anchored on practical governance — one that prioritizes the welfare of the people, expands access to opportunities and strengthens the productive capacity of communities rather than limiting governance to rhetoric and ceremonial activities.

The APC stalwart also used the occasion to commend the people of Gwarzo and Kabo Local Government Areas, as well as the wider Kano North Senatorial District, for their continued commitment to peace, political maturity and constructive engagement in issues that affect the growth and future of Kano State.

He called on APC supporters, elders, women groups, youth organizations and all relevant stakeholders to remain united and steadfast in promoting initiatives that support development, social harmony and economic advancement, noting that progress can only be sustained when the people collectively protect and encourage what is beneficial to society.

Alhaji Muhammad Usman Barau Gwarzo further emphasized that leadership should always be assessed by its impact on the lives of the people, adding that any administration that gives priority to agriculture, youth empowerment, technology and grassroots development is investing in the long-term stability and prosperity of the state.

He praised the role of community elders, women and youth groups in supporting peaceful political participation and mobilizing citizens toward development-oriented engagement, saying their contribution remains indispensable to building a more responsible, united and forward-looking society.

He therefore urged political leaders, traditional institutions, development partners and community-based organizations to continue supporting programmes that promote agricultural expansion, innovation, job creation and inclusive governance, stressing that such collective support is essential to consolidating the gains already recorded by the present administration.

Alhaji Muhammad Usman Barau Gwarzo concluded by expressing confidence that if the momentum generated by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf in the areas of agriculture, technology and human capital development is sustained, Kano State will continue to witness deeper economic transformation, stronger institutions and broader opportunities for its growing population.

He added that the current trajectory of governance in Kano offers a clear indication that with commitment, strategic planning and people-oriented leadership, the state can reclaim its place as one of the leading centers of economic productivity, innovation and social progress in Northern Nigeria and beyond.
