The Executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Igbotako Ward II, Okitipupa local government area of Ondo State, have announced the suspension of Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, representing Ondo South, over alleged anti-party activities and insubordination.

Signed by ward executive members including Omotoye Olusola, Bakere Usuf, Tore Obwoselu, and others, the notice cites Ibrahim’s suspension pursuant to Article 21, Section A of the APC Constitution.

The decision to suspend the senator was made during a meeting held on Monday, May 13, 2024. The party executives expressed disappointment that despite the directive from APC National Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, urging cooperation with the party’s candidate, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Ibrahim proceeded to sue both the governor and APC.

The letter detailing Ibrahim’s suspension highlights his engagement in anti-party activities, including encouraging his supporters to join the NNPP and declaring intent to disrupt APC operations. Consequently, the APC Executives have suspended Senator Ibrahim from the party with immediate effect and barred him from participating in any APC activities nationwide.
