Senator Barau Sacks Aide Over ‘Abba Must Go’ Post

Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has dismissed one of his aides, Umar Alhassan, popularly known as King Indara, from his position as Special Legislative Assistant (SLA).Africans & Diaspora

The dismissal was contained in a statement signed by Hon. Shitu Madaki Kunchi, Special Assistant to the Deputy Senate President on Media and Publicity, on Friday.

According to the statement, the aide was dismissed over a social media post carrying the message “Abba Must Go,” a slogan calling on voters to vote out Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, in the next election.

 

 

The statement described the post as misconduct and said it was inconsistent with the position and responsibilities of the aide’s office.

It added that the decision was taken to maintain discipline and uphold the principles of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Senator Barau, who represents Kano North Senatorial District, reaffirmed his commitment to the APC and wished the party success at all levels.
