Terrorists attack not fake : Kano Police counter State government’s reaction

The Kano Police Command has tactically faulted the State governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, on the claimed that there was no security threat ,affirming that there was a planned terrorist attack on the Tijjaniya Maulud celebration,held in the state, revealing it recovered Improvise Explosive Devices, IEDs at the venue.

Making this known on Monday,while speaking with press
at the Command Headquarters, the State Police Commissioner Salman Dogo Garba, said the man behind the planned terrorist attack is from Chad and had killed eight persons in that country recently.

There was security alert about the terrorists attack in Kano, using the advantage of the then ongoing Tijjaniyya Maulud which we raised alarm,

He said, “on receiving the intelligence reports, we combed the whole area till day break and we succeeded in ensuring that the whole programs was conducted peacefully”.

According to him,” We informed the public, we set up machinery, cordoned off the area,  and besides, after the alarm was raised, some of them left the state.”

He emphasised that” Even one  left for Cameroon, who  came from Chad. He came from Chad, and we trailed him. And it was his host who had the key to his house was arrested.

There were still other security alerts where we made some recoveries of explosives.he said

It will be recalled that a day to the Tijjaniya Maulud’ yearly gathered skated to hold in. Kano,the police command raised an alleged of impending terrorists attack in the state

The command added that they have gotten useful information that the terrorists had planned to launched attacks on some strategic places in the state capital

He however the state governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, countered the alarm raised by the Police described it as a fake news

According to the state government,the state is peaceful and there was no iota in the statement credited to the police that there was impending move by terrorists to launched attacks in the state
