KAROTA inaugurates Mobile Court for on the spot trial of Traffic Offenders

Kano State Roads Traffic Agency KAROTA has inaugurated Mobile Courts for immediate trial of Traffic Lights violators along major streets in Kano Metropolis.

Inaugurating the courts, the Managing Director of KAROTA, Hon Faisal Mahmud Kabir said the move followed the directive to Karota by His Excellency Kano State Governor, Alh Abba Kabir Yusuf on the need for the Agency to ensure strict compliance to the traffic rules by motorists and Tricyclists.

The Managing Director pointed out that as the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf spends a huge sums of money to install the new Solar Powered traffic lights there is need for motorists and Tricyclists to reciprocate the gesture by abiding by traffic lights directions.

He therefore warned that any vehicle owner found violating the traffic lights direction would be apprehended by Karota officials and other security personnel for on the spot trial by the mobile courts .

Hon Faisal Mahmud Kabir further enjoined the public to cooperate with Karota officials as the mobile courts were not meant to harass or intimidate any person or groups but to safeguard the lives and properties of the citizenry while plying the roads.

The KAROTA Boss said the Agency remains resolute to implement the people oriented policies and programs of the Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf administration as it affects tranport sector.

It could be recalled that the Kano Sector Command of the Federal Roads Safety Corps- FRSC has assured of its support to KAROTA in ensuring compliance with the traffic lights rules as well as arresting violators.
